Effects of handpiece speed on the performance of undergraduate dental students in preclinical training
Conclusions The type of handpiece did not influence the learning capabilities of the undergraduate dental students in the preparation of preparing class I cavities. This study did not observe any significant differences between the cavities that were prepared by our students using either high-speed or low-speed handpieces. Dentures lodged in esophagus during surgery, lawsuit claims
JERSEY CITY – A Kearny woman is suing Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center in Secaucus for letting her dentures lodge in her esophagus while she was under anesthesia for a 2013 surgical procedure. Lourdes Rivera, 56, eventually needed a tracheostomy to remove lower partial dentures that got stuck in her esophagus and remained there for three months, according to the lawsuit filed in state Superior Court in Hudson County last month.
