Oral decay a ‘time bomb’ for aging population
A Queensland dentist is warning that the state is setting itself up for an “overwhelming burden of disease in the aged population” as the elderly are institutionalised. Rockhampton dentist Greg Moore, a former Queensland president of the Australian Dental Association, said he had seen a growing number of elderly patients whose teeth had decayed after moving to aged care centres.
