Abstract
Saliva plays a vital role in oral health as patients strive to maintain a healthy dentition throughout their lives. It is natures primary defense mechanism for the oral environment, and is particularly important for protecting exposed tooth surfaces. While internal protection for dentin comes from odontoblasts and the dental pulp, the body’s external protection for enamel comes from saliva. The noninvasive nature of salivary testing has made it an effective alternative to blood and urine testing and home testing kits have made it possible for people to monitor their own health using this diagnostic medium. This paper presents what saliva can reveal about general and oral health as well as highlights the current use and potential clini…

Behavior shaping of complete denture patient: a theoretical approach.
Authors: Sudheer A, Reddy GV, Reddy G
Abstract

Occlusion revisited.
Authors: Taner T
Abstract
The evaluation of occlusion is of utmost importance, when planning for dental and orthodontic treatment. The occlusal characteristics of normal occlusion change according to the dentoalveolar maturation stages. In primary dentition, flush terminal plane relationship of the second primary molars is desired for a normal molar relationship. In the early mixed dentition stage, cusp to cusp molar relationship is the normal occlusal feature, when posterior primary teeth are in place and leeway space is preserved.

Root canal obturation update: where do we stand today?
Authors: Zogheib C
Abstract
Root canal obturation is an essential stage of endodontic treatment aiming to seal the root canal and prevent future bacterial contamination/recontamination of the canal space. By hindering microleakage between root canal and periapical tissues, this procedure should also deprive any surviving microorganisms and toxic bacterial products from entering periapical tissues.
