Conclusion: Transcrestal SFE is often recommended to the less experienced surgeon before the lateral window technique due to fewer complications and lower morbidity. The present case illustrates that severe complications may accompany transcrestal SFE. Although rare, clinicians performing SFE should be aware of this potential risk.

Conclusions Quantitative assessment by OCT can non-destructively provide information on the performance and effectiveness of dental composites and restoration techniques. There was a moderate correlation between floor adaptation and bond strength in class-I cavities. Incremental application of composite restoration showed the best performance in terms of bond strength and internal adaptation. (Source: Journal of Dentistry)
