A Novel Method to Evaluate Precision of Optical Implant Impressions with Commercial Scan Bodies—An Experimental Approach
ConclusionsThe precision of extraoral scanning of scan bodies is dependent on the scan body surface design and geometry. The precision of scanning with an extraoral model scanner differed between the scan body geometries and inter?scan body distances. Oral impact on daily performance: need and use of dental prostheses among Brazilian adults
Summary Although there is a large amount of evidence that demonstrates the relationship between oral health status and oral impact daily performance, there are few studies that have evaluated the impact of prosthetic status, particularly the need for a dental prosthesis. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between need and use of dental prostheses and the prevalence of oral impact on daily performance. Incorporation of staphylococci into titanium?grown biofilms: an in vitro “submucosal” biofilm model for peri?implantitis
ConclusionsStaphyoccous aureus and S. epidermidis can be individually integrated into an oral biofilm grown on titanium, hence establishing a “submucosal” biofilm model for peri?implantitis. This model also revealed that S. aureus outcompetes S. epidermidis when grown together in the biofilm, which may explain the more frequent association of the former with peri?implantitis.
