Lack of cooperation between physicians and dentists during osteoporosis treatment may increase fractures and osteonecrosis of the jaw.
CONCLUSIONS: This study reconfirms the results of our previous survey. Discontinuation of antiresorptive treatment may increase both fractures and ONJ. Immediate development of a strategy for sharing information about ONJ among physicians, dentists, and patients is required to reduce the incidence of both ONJ and skeletal events in osteoporosis treatment. Study limitations were selection bias due to low response rate and possible inaccurate responses to the questionnaire. Clinical trials in dentistry: A cross-sectional analysis of World Health Organization-International Clinical Trial Registry Platform
Conclusion The number, methodology and the characteristics of clinical trials in dentistry have been noted to be poor especially in terms of being conducted multi-centrically, employing blinding and the method for randomization and allocation concealment. More emphasis has to be laid down on the quality of trials being conducted in order to provide justice in the name of EBP. (Source: Journal of Evidence Based Dental Practice)
