Is there an association between the presence of dental fluorosis and dental trauma amongst school children?
Resumo Objetivou-se avaliar se diferentes graus de fluorose dentária estão associados à presença de traumatismo dentário entre escolares. Trata-se de um estudo transversal conduzido entre escolares de 12 anos. Os exames foram realizados por 24 cirurgiões-dentistas treinados e calibrados. A coleta de dados ocorreu em 36 escolas públicas sorteadas entre as 89 do município. Adotou-se como critério de diagnóstico para fluorose dentária o Índice de Dean e para o traumatismo dentário considerou-se sinais clínicos de fraturas coronárias e avulsão dentária. CONCLUSIONS: Under the test conditions, BPA was observed to leach from a silicone baby bottle nipple. PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: Although the quantities of leached BPA were below the reference dose for daily intake, investigators have shown a possible association between low levels of BPA and many medical disorders. BPA exposure, and thus the use of the leaching material identified in this study, should be reduced or eliminated. New Delhi, April 3: Chronic irritation of the mouth from ill-fitting dentures may be a risk factor for oral cancer, Indian doctors have said after a research review that explored links between chronic mucosal trauma and cancer. Doctors at the Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, said denture-related sores might be colonised by candida, a fungus that may induce chronic inflammation of the mucosa, which has been hypothesised as an oral cancer risk.
